Sparkmon & Associates would like to encourage you to look at paperless solutions to speed up your back office and to facilitate more efficient workflows. Scanning in your invoices and receipts will reduce printing and paper costs as well as time and money spent dealing with paper records.
Below are a few scanners that we have used and recommend to our clients. If you have any questions please contact the IT department.
Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500
The Fujistu ScanSnap iX500 has long been a favorite for our clients’ back office scanning needs. It easily connects to a computer via USB and can handle the daily work load for a busy back office. The document feeder can hold up to 50 pages, which will save you time when scanning bundles of documents. In standard mode, this scanner will scan front and back at 25 ppm (ppm stands for pages per minute). You can also scan color documents or photos at 1200 dpi. 1200 dpi produces a great image that is very detailed and should suit your color scanning needs. This scanner has software that will allow it to run on PC and MAC computers. A feature that we especially like is the ability to scan directly to an iOS or Android mobile device.
Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100
This scanner model is good solution if you need an option for mobile scanning. You can easily stick this in your laptop bag and scan invoices, receipts, and notes while out at your stores. The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100 is a single sided page scanner so it would not be a good idea to support the work load of a back office but it is suitable for travel due to its lightweight design. It has MAC and PC drivers so it should work with your mobile computing platform. This will scan in color at 7.5 seconds per page, which equates to 8ppm.
